WORKING PAPERS
Smart Specialisation Working Papers
The acquisition of technological knowledge by companies has become commonplace all over the world, particularly in developed and emerging countries. This practice is critical, given that it allows companies not just to survive, but also to evolve in an increasingly dynamic market. It is the driving force behind increasingly shorter protection, publication and marketing cycles for technology coming from universities. In this context, the Smart Specialisation Working Papers represent a University-Company link, which means helping companies to generate sustainable technological development capable of contributing to accelerating competitiveness levels. This campaign will be the kick-off for the project, announcing a set of business and innovation opportunities.

ROAD SHOWS
“Born Global” Road Show
Our aim is to encourage the appearance of innovative startups, led by entrepreneurs capable of thinking “outside of the box”. By doing this, we want to show that it is possible in Portugal to break with preconceived ideas and be successful, seeking inspiration from the best international practices for startups and from entrepreneurs with high potential, opening up new opportunities and tracing out a strategy for the implementation of their projects and ideas.
To this end, we took 15 high-potential promoters on a pre-acceleration road show to the international Web Summit event, which was held in Lisbon. This allowed them to collect a large amount of strategic information, experiences and contacts which will be decisive in the construction/fine-tuning of their business models as future startups with global DNA. The main asset of this road show is focused on international observation experience and benchmarking.
